The world lost one of it's great icon's today with the death of 85 year old former model, Bettie Page. Page is perhaps one of the most recognizable and iconic women of the last century. A secretary from a impoverished and turbulent background, she would become the iconoclastic image of the sexual revolution. From her scandalous SM photo shoots in the 1950 page some transcended the seedier elements with a playful smile and a joyous innocence that inspires women today. From her fetish wear heels to her legendary, of imitated hair cut, Bettie Page inspired women to take control of their sexual lives, and inspired many men as well. The sad truth was Bettie live a long a rough life after leaving modeling for a life as a born again Christian. She made little money from here career until later in life and suffered many bizarre legal woes (including stabbing a tenant she rented a property to) but still that is life.
Bettie Page has left us , but her image never will, she is pseudonymous with sexy fun playfully rock-a-billy gals, cherry prints, high heels and black bra.
She is and always will be a legend.
