Hate Speech

Here's a sampling of things said by  Republicans in power regarding LGBT rights in this country.
Scott Renfroe, R-: "Homosexuality is seen as a violation of this natural created law, and it is an offense to God. I'm not saying this (homosexuality) is the only sin that's out there. We have murder. We have all sorts of sin. We have adultery. And we don't make laws making those legal, and we would never think to make murder legal."
RNC Chair Michael Steele:
GALLAGHER: Is this a time when Republicans ought to consider some sort of alternative to redefining marriage and maybe in the road, down the road to civil unions. Do you favor civil unions?

STEELE: No, no no. What would we do that for? What are you, crazy? No. Why would we backslide on a core, founding value of this country? I mean this isn’t something that you just kind of like, “Oh well, today I feel, you know, loosey-goosey on marriage.” […]

GALLAGHER: So no room even for a conversation about civil unions in your mind?

STEELE: What’s the difference?

Steele is one of the co-founders of  the Republican Leadership Council, a centrist organization which supports candidates who favor abortion rights and gay rights.

Oh Alan Keyes, that republican wackjob just says the darndest things, like that the person "known as President Obama" is secretly a "muslim Communist born in Indonesia" and if we "don't stop him America will cease to exist"... no really, he said that.
